Cipollino Ondulato Marble is a dramatic Italian architectural slab with an exceptionally fluid composition of charcoal, maroon, brown-grey, purple, muted green, silver and white. Approximate colours include #353536 for the charcoal field, #65393F for maroon layers, #6B625D for brown-grey areas, #777B6D for green undertones and #D5D1C8 for pale bands. Tightly folded ribbons sweep across the surface in waves, curls, chevrons and repeated undulating layers, causing nearly the entire slab to appear in motion. Narrow silver-white lines outline darker bands, while green and violet tones emerge between the principal folds. Polishing intensifies the colours and creates exceptional optical depth. Narrow silver-white bands and tightly folded contacts should be kept away from sink corners, fixing holes and unsupported projections or locally reinforced. The polished high movement surface is especially effective in sequential or mirrored layouts, but full-slab dry-laying is essential. Exterior approval should depend on frost performance, engineered anchoring and a finish suited to wet conditions.

Its complex directional ribboning should be mapped through scaled slab elevations before fabrication, with every panel numbered to prevent rotation during installation. Use honed mosaics or small pieces on shower floors and polished slabs vertically. Strong folded mineral bands should be assessed before locating basin openings or narrow mitred rails, and reinforcement should be added where necessary. Install over complete waterproofing with compatible low-stain adhesive and flexible joints. Neutral cleaner, clear-water rinsing and soft drying are safer than acidic products. Rosso Luana has a lamellar or serpentine structure and some specialist processors note that it may not take a perfectly uniform high polish. Where a polish is achieved, it saturates the maroon, grey, green and violet folds and creates dramatic interior flooring or furniture. Honing gives the layered movement a softer textile character and is generally more suitable for large interior floors. For courtyard paving, neither a glossy polish nor a smooth hone should be specified without slip and weather testing; a brushed, sandblasted or other textured finish is normally more appropriate. Hot-climate exterior use also requires assessment of resin treatment, moisture exposure, substrate movement and colour stability.

Rosso Luana is an unusually dynamic Tuscan marble with tightly folded multicolour bands.
