Bianco Polaris Marble is a luminous architectural slab with a fresh white to cool off-white background and restrained grey, silver, beige and pale-gold movement. Approximate references include #F1F1EE for the principal field, #D6D8D7 for light-grey clouding, #AEB1B0 for stronger veins, #DED3BA for warm accents and #FAF9F5 for bright crystalline sections. Its pattern consists of meandering lines, diffused grey shadows, fine branches and occasional wider streaks. Some slabs are nearly uniform and predominantly white, while others contain more visible grey lines or concentrated cloudy formations. The fine crystalline background reflects light gently without appearing heavily granular. Polishing brightens the surface and gives the veins clearer definition. Honing creates a smooth chalk-like finish. Full-slab selection helps control vein warmth, density and direction across adjoining pieces.

Polaris Classic Marble is quarried within the white-marble belt extending through northern Greece and North Macedonia, but suppliers variously associate the name with Kavala and the Prilep region, so the exact quarry must be written into the purchase order. Published reference values for one selection include approximately 2,840 kg/m³ density, 0.15% water absorption, 151 MPa compressive strength and 8.7 MPa flexural strength. The comparatively modest bending value means long shelves, narrow sink rails and unsupported stair components require continuous backing or reinforcement. Sequential slabs should be purchased from one block to control mineral consistency, while grey seams must be inspected before internal corners and tap holes are fabricated. The polished clean luxury surface can support interior floors, walls, stairs and vanity tops, with selected exterior use possible only after quarry-specific frost testing, engineered anchoring and finish-specific wet-slip assessment.

Polished Kavala White Marble works well for fireplace surrounds, reception counters, vanity tops and minimalist feature panels, while honing creates a softer surface for bathrooms, staircases and expansive floors. Full slabs commonly range from approximately 2,400–3,200 × 1,300–1,900 mm, with 20 mm and 30 mm as the standard thicknesses. Twenty-millimetre slabs are suitable for supported wall cladding and furniture, while 30 mm provides greater rigidity for counters, stair treads and projecting shelves. Consecutive slabs can create restrained two-panel or four-panel bookmatches, but subtle movement should be digitally paired to prevent isolated markings from becoming concentrated around the centre seam. Pale adhesive and grout should be tested on an offcut, while tall panels may require concealed mechanical anchors. All matched pieces should receive identical finishing, sealing and illumination.
Cool bathrooms, practical upkeep, wise selection
Kavala White Marble is suitable for minimalist bathroom floors, vanity tops, bath surrounds and refined snow inspired texture installations where a calm pale selection is required. Use honed tiles or mosaics in wet floor zones and polished slabs on vertical surfaces. White non-staining adhesive should be applied over complete waterproofing, and a trial piece should confirm that the setting products do not create visible shadowing. Buyers should compare slabs for vein warmth, background consistency, filled areas and calibration, then order enough from one lot to cover replacements. Basin openings should be positioned away from visible seams, with long narrow rails reinforced where necessary. Clean with neutral products and dry after rinsing. Polaris is an established Greek white marble extracted from the Lekovo–Florina quarrying district with Nordia documenting both Lekovo Polaris and Bella Pola Polaris quarries. The cleanest Bianco Polaris grade is almost entirely luminous white with minimal movement. More commercial blocks develop cool off-white clouding and increasingly visible silver-grey or beige veins which reduce the broad uninterrupted white field.
Polaris ranges from almost pure white Bianco Polaris to selections containing clearer grey veins and occasional warm beige shadows. Beige-gold accents are normally subtle and may be absent entirely in the cleanest lots. Polishing maximises whiteness and makes any warm mineral detail more visible, creating a formal dining-table surface. Honing produces a softer chalk-white appearance and is more forgiving of everyday use. Polaris is suitable for dining tables when sealed and supported, but acids can etch either finish. For a calm tabletop, choose a slab with one balanced vein structure rather than scattered warm patches, and inspect the complete piece because the Greek quarry family includes visibly different selections.
Polaris Marble is suitable for countertops, flooring and wall cladding when the specific Greek quarry grade and slab bundle are documented. Greek quarry sources identify Polaris deposits and commercial production, but whiteness, clouding and grey-beige vein density vary between quarry faces and selections. For countertops, reserve the clearest white areas for sinks and main working zones and keep stronger veins away from narrow bridges or unsupported corners. Honed Polaris is normally more forgiving of acid etching and light scratches; polished slabs provide greater crystalline brightness but reveal dull marks more readily. For flooring, specify honed or independently slip-tested textured material in circulation and wet-adjacent areas, with polished stone limited to dry decorative rooms. Large wall panels should be selected from one quarry lot, dry-laid by whiteness and installed with pale compatible setting materials. Since a low-variation sample does not guarantee identical slabs, record slab numbers and approve the complete quantity before fabrication.
Polaris Marble is suitable for vanity tops, shower walls and wet-area flooring when the finish is selected for the exposure. Greek suppliers identify Polaris as white marble available in blocks, slabs and tiles, and specialist sources list sandblasted finishing as slip-resistant for showers and wet rooms. Use polished or honed slabs vertically over complete waterproofing; use smaller-format sandblasted, textured or independently wet-slip-tested pieces on shower floors rather than polished slabs. Apply an impregnating sealer to vanity tops, ledges, cut edges and any floor areas that darken during a water test. Check active wet surfaces about annually, but do not reseal a dense surface that still resists absorption. Its bright white field makes cosmetics, hair dye, rust and dirty water easy to see. Acidic descalers and vinegar create dull etch marks; these are more apparent on polish because the damaged area loses reflection. Honed Polaris hides mild etching and scratching better but may show temporary wet or oil darkening.
Select Polaris slabs by measuring the amount of uninterrupted white field, not merely by choosing the slab with the most attractive vein. For a spacious result, use slabs with a consistent cool-white background, restrained silver-grey movement and no isolated dark cluster that would dominate the installation. Photograph consecutive slabs at the same scale and position the principal grey vein before locating sinks, hobs, joints or stair cuts. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner, soft microfiber tools and prompt spill removal; seal worktops and wet areas where absorption testing indicates a need, while protecting the surface from acids. Polaris is quarried in northern Greece and is typically brighter and more open than standard Carrara, which generally has a greyer field and more evenly distributed fine veins. It is usually calmer and less dramatic than Calacatta, whose premium selections contain broader, more isolated veins and stronger bookmatching potential.
